S ep 2 00 4 CONTACT REDUCTION AND GROUPOID ACTIONS
We introduce a new method to perform reduction of contact manifolds that extends Willett’s and Albert’s results. To carry out our reduction procedure all we need is a complete Jacobi map J : M → Γ0 from a contact manifold to a Jacobi manifold. This naturally generates the action of the contact groupoid of Γ0 on M , and we show that the quotients of fibers J(x) by suitable Lie subgroups Γx are e...

متن کاملGroupoid Actions on Fractafolds
We define a bundle over a totally disconnected set such that each fiber is homeomorphic to a fractal blowup. We prove that there is a natural action of a Renault–Deaconu groupoid on our fractafold bundle and that the resulting action groupoid is a Renault– Deaconu groupoid itself. We also show that when the bundle is locally compact the associated C∗-algebra is primitive and has a densely defin...
متن کاملGlobal Actions, Groupoid Atlases and Applications
Global actions were introduced by A. Bak to give a combinatorial approach to higher K-theory, in which control is kept of the elementary operations through paths and paths of paths. This paper is intended as an introduction to this circle of ideas, including the homotopy theory of global actions, which one obtains naturally from the notion of path of elementary operations. Emphasis is placed on...
متن کاملGroupoid Actions as Quantale Modules * Pedro Resende
For an arbitrary localic étale groupoid G we provide simple descriptions, in terms of modules over the quantale O(G) of the groupoid, of the continuous actions of G, including actions on open maps and sheaves. The category of G-actions is isomorphic to a corresponding category of O(G)-modules, and as a corollary we obtain a new quantale based representation of étendues.
